Abstract of WO 2009084572 (A1)

Provided is a nerve regeneration-inducing tube comprising a tubular body which is obtained by knitting an ultrafine fiber made of a biodegradable and absorbable polymer and has an outer surface coated with a collagen solution and collagen packed in the interior of the tubular body. The nerve regeneration-inducing tube is excellent in cell proliferation, pressure resistance, shape restoration and kink resistance. In particular, a nerve regeneration-inducing tube having a degradation rate adjusted so as to be suitable for bridging a nerve gap exceeding 40 mm is provided. The invention is directed to a nerve regeneration-inducing tube comprising a tubular body obtained by knitting a fiber bundle formed of a plurality of ultrafine fibers made of a biodegradable and absorbable polymer and having an outer surface coated with collagen, characterized in that the tubular body is formed of mainly a first polymer having biodegradability and absorbability and a second polymer having higher biodegradability and absorbability than the first polymer.
