CRAiLAR facility to start up at end of year

Naturally Advanced Technologies Inc. (NAT), which produces and markets CRAiLAR Flax Fiber, was recently granted $263,500 in incentives from Florence County, South Carolina to be used for its manufacturing and production in the region.  Flax, grown as a winter crop in Florence and surrounding counties, will be processed at a new NAT facility there from 28 December 2012.

Terrot gears up for INDIA ITME 2012

The Chemnitz based company will show its single jersey electronic jacquard SCC572 Open Width as well as the latest version of its I3P284-1 8 lock machine.

Adidas wins round one in flat knitted shoe fight

Media reports emerged this afternoon which say adidas may be able to sell its adizero Primeknit running shoe with flat knitted upper in Germany from next month after a court ruled that a temporary injunction brought by rival Nike is not sustainable.

Chanel, the luxury goods brand, has bought Barrie Knitwear a cashmere knitwear manufacturer based in the Scottish Borders town of Hawick, following the collapse of its owner Dawson International. Barrie has produced cashmere knitwear for Chanel for the past 25 years.

According to events organiser UBM Asia, the Cashmere World show which has relocated from Beijing to Hong Kong, has had a successful debut in Hong Kong. The fair is said to have benefited from the presence of important international buying offices in Hong Kong enjoyed synergies with the co-located Fashion Access (25 – 27 September 2012) show. Close to 2000 buyers from 50 countries were on hand to view the fibres, yarns and finished cashmere products on offer.
